Serena Wells studied Fashion Textiles at Brighton University and spent the first part of her career designing, embroidering, and painting garments and samples for fashion and interiors.

Combining an understanding of working with fabric and using colour with the desire to create bold, graphic work has led to this collection.

Her most recent work, primarily silk on silk explores how the materials react to light and how juxtaposing the fabric in a geometric manner gives the colour and tone added depth. The large scale of the stretched work makes apparent the contrast between the symmetrical, mathematical nature of the patterns with the individual hand cut silk pieces.
